Crippens Reviews

Lovely house in a great area of Canterbury. Close to absolutely everything you could want in a fantastic city. The house is very comfortable. We particularly liked the attractive design and layout, the comfortable furniture and beds and the very clear information and advice provided. Deborah and John were very helpful and kindly left some much appreciated provisions to welcome us to the house. We had a wonderful time, hope to visit again and highly recommend beautiful historic Crippens.

If you are visiting Canterbury, you must stay here. Deborah’s place is beautifully decorated and has a stocked kitchen ready for you to make a meal. Perfectly furnished rooms and such comfortable beds and real cotton bed linens. The big tub is divine. Stop looking for other places to stay in Canterbury and book this one! You won’t regret it. Yes you will have to duck a bit when walking around upstairs, but this adds to the charm. You are in a historic area and in beautifully restored historic building, so it only adds to the charm.

Had a wonderful few days in Canterbury staying at Crippens. Home is beautiful and comfortable, with quality luxury furniture, bedding and essential equipment throughout. Perfect location, couldn’t have hoped for better. Host John was very helpful responding quickly to any questions. What’s not to like. Thank you

A perfect stay! Can’t wait to return! The ceilings are indeed very low upstairs in the hallway and the door of one of the bedrooms, but it didn’t bother us; we just needed to pay a little bit more attention when walking.

Amazing home, we loved every minute of our stay there. The location was very convenient and everything was within walking distance. We will definitely be back!

This is a wonderful house in a wonderful spot. Everything is walkable, including the Cathedral and lots of enticing restaurants and shops. A local supermarket is a few seconds down the street. The host supplied some very welcome basics such as milk, butter, bread with tea and coffee, which was a lovely touch. The house was well-equipped, and the beds were extremely comfortable; there was even a Christmas tree, which was wonderful to have. All of the rooms were spotless. The host was friendly and had good and positive communication. We have family in the area, so we will not hesitate to book again in the future. We look forward to returning.

we loved the place and the location was perfect to see the ancient city of Canterbury. Everything was in easy walking distance. Deborah and John were very responsive for a late request for additional parking.

The house was beautiful and well presented. Useful information was provided throughout. Very central location - 5 minutes to restaurants and cathedral.

Great home with tons of charm and detail. Perfect location next to town. Would highly recommend.

The most amazing place in Canterbury! Staying at this Airbnb was an absolute dream! The location is ideal; right in the heart of Canterbury's city centre, yet tucked away just enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. The parking space is a big plus for this location. It's only a short walk from the high street, making it super accessible to all the shops, restaurants, and historic landmarks. Deborah and John provided excellent recommendations for things to do. From hidden gems for dining to must-see attractions, which felt like having an insider’s guide to Canterbury. The place itself is amazing. It’s luxurious, very well designed, and beautifully decorated with attention to every detail. From the stylish furnishings to the thoughtful touches throughout, it felt like staying in a boutique hotel. If you're looking for a blend of comfort, style, and prime location, this is a great place to stay! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this for anyone who wants a luxurious retreat.

Wonderful property, very specially decorated, with private car park for 1 car, right in the heart of Canterbury.

Fantastic time. Lovely location. Quiet. Beautifully rustic. Central and easy to get to. Great facilities! Would go again.

This is the best place for a big family to stay at. Very pretty house, good kitchen with everything that you might need for cooking and baking, clean bathrooms and showers. Couldn’t ask for more. Will come back!

Amazing location and fantastic home with lots of character and charm…. However that did come with some quirks - one of the larger rooms did have a bed which was positioned on a slopping part of the room making sleeping a bit awkward. Overall, fantastic property in a beautiful city. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay at Deborah's place. It is just a few hundred yards of the main street in Canterbury, but is quiet and feels away from the crowds. We were happy with everything, particularly the flexibility Deborah showed around our booking, which I am sure was annoying for her. We appreciated that. The place is spacious and nicely done out. It also has a piano that is in tune - what a treat.

We had a lovely stay. Excellent location and comfy beds. We would certainly book again. Thank you!

A perfect self contained house, fully equipped and very comfortable. Situated close to a beautiful river walk. Easy to walking distance to the whole of Canterbury. Recommended.

Deborah was a great host, accurate listing description, clean place, communicated great.

The perfect place to stay in Canterbury. Beautifully decorated house with plenty of space right by Canterbury’s high street and main attractions. The house is also a short drive to other Kent attractions such as Whitstable and Deel. Good size bedrooms and plenty of space for a family of 4 + 2 adult friends with a large kitchen and communal space. The house was spotless when we arrived with clear instructions for everything that we needed. Would highly recommend staying at Crippens and would gladly return should we ever return to the area.

Right in the heart of Canterbury with the buzz of the town. Beautiful place with a high specification

We were in Canterbury for one night with family, and we wanted somewhere to make the time special. Crippens fitted that exactly. The house is a massively skilful blend of old and new; it feels as if every part of the design and furniture has been carefully thought through. Everyone said how peaceful and relaxed they felt. The location was perfect. It is within a few minutes' walking distance of the cathedral and all the other central areas. The road is quiet with almost no traffic noise. There are plenty of places to eat (including breakfast) 2-3 minutes away. Parking on site was easy. We will be back next time we need a place in Canterbury. Thank you, Deborah!

We loved our stay in Canterbury and would highly recommend staying at Deborah’s place! It’s a great location - a short walk to Canterbury high street but on a quiet street The property is beautifully designed - it has old cottage charm but with a refurbished and modern feel. The beds were very comfortable. It has a great sized living space and kitchen is well equipped for cooking. We would stay here again!

This home is truly a gem. It’s so beautiful! The beds were very large and comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped with very nice appliances, the entire home is exquisitely decorated throughout. We could not be happier with this home! It’s close to many things to do in Canterbury. We took advantage of the numerous playgrounds and walks for our toddler, enjoyed punting up the river, and had lovely meals (notably enjoyed Cafe du Soleil and Cozy Corner). One thing to mention is that because of its convenient location, it did get a bit noisy from the street on the weekend nights. It was certainly not unbearable and our 18 month old was not disturbed sleeping against the street facing window, but if you are a sensitive sleeper you may benefit from earplugs or a sound machine for occasional street chatter and motorcycle/car noise. It did not bother us, but was noticed. Deborah was a lovely host and we had a fantastic visit to Crippens!!

This is a totally unique historic building, that has been renovated to the highest standard. Really one of a kind! Right in the centre so close to everything. Excellent communication from host Deborah.

This house. Is really spectacular. Every detail has been considered and love and attention poured into it. Beautiful, comfortable and great quality. The location is unbeatable, cannot recommend highly enough.

Very unique decoration and cleanliness house. Modern kitchen facilities (it will be more convenient if there is washing clothes for dishes and cooking oil). Very good location, walking distance to the town for shopping and sightseeing. We felt a bit cold in the room, it was helpful if the heating system can be set up in advance.

Deborah is always a kind and most helpful host. Her place is always so charming and as return guests we plan to stay over and over again.

Fantastic house and location. Couldn’t fault it. Loved all the interior touches. Just beautiful and so relaxing

Great stay - perfect location and very Christmassy! House was spotless and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Beds super comfy… overall super cozy!

Location was great, Deborah is very responsive. I feel like home when I stay here.

Deborah’s property is a home away from home. Unique and stylish. She was very flexible with us and we would love to return as much as possible. My kids loved it and that is always a bonus. A big thank you to Deborah a wonderful host.

Crippens was possibly best AirBnB I have stayed in. Beautiful and modern yet in medieval building right in the historic centre. Secure off road parking (a real bonus for this location). Fantastic kitchen, and living areas. Deborah left some sour dough, milk, coffee etc. to help us feel at home. Comfortable, spotlessly clean, with a very responsive and friendly host.

Beautiful place with a real homely feel. Beautifully designed with care and a sense of humour on occasion.

Deborah is an amazing host and went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. She had some delicious locally made treats for us on our arrival and she was a wealth of information about the best local restaurants and activities. She is certainly the friendliest and most helpful host that we have ever met through Airbnb. Her place is adorable and has the furnishings to match. Everything was comfortable and the house was spotless. The kitchen is well designed with all that we needed to make cooking a breeze. The location is just steps away from the any restaurants and shops in Canterbury, as well as several amazing walks and parks. A very fun and whimsical place to stay!

Jesticos Reviews

Jesticos was a good location to stay in Canterbury and whilst I would recommend it to someone looking to stay in city, we did have some experiences that regretfully resulted in us leaving less than 5 stars. The location is good and parking is a short 30s walk away. We did receive a parking ticket due to an admin error, however the hosts dealt with it and the ticket was cancelled. The property was clean and well presented - the towels and bed sheets unfortunately had some questionable marks on them. For light-sleepers, the main bedroom's window lets in a lot of light from the street - even with both blinds down. The street lights are on throughout the night. The bathroom was lovely with a brilliant shower, however the sink drains exceptionally slowly which made getting ready a little awkward. The lounge is great and has a Sky TV - comfortable sofa with blankets for cosy evenings. The kitchen was well supplied and a milk/ground coffee was provided upon arrival which was nice.

Very convenient for centre of Canterbury and very well maintained small house. Everything in it that you would need.

Really nice place. Clean and modern. Very near High Street. Groceries 1 min walk. Good pubs. Parking 30 seconds away.

Beautifully designed, welcoming space and modern technology. A stone's throw from Canterbury high street. The place was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities we needed. Highly recommend

Very modern and well designed home. Clean and comfortable with all amenities needed for our short stay. Really central which is mostly great, but lots of noise in evenings from party goers, perhaps worse as it was a weekend.

We had a great stay in Canterbury. Excellent location only a short walk from the train station. Easy self check in. Everything clean & tidy. Thanks very much!

Stunningly appointed. Spotlessly clean. Perfectly located. Dreadful customer service when it mattered.

Beautiful little flat on a small side street right in the heart of the village. Was a fun little getaway. Would book again.

Jesticos was a very tastefully designed. Every thought was made for the comfort of their guests with comfortable beds and a fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom was beautifully designed, but the one single downside was the temperature of the shower was far too hot and the thermostat was not working. Otherwise the attention to detail was superb.

We had a very nice stay at Robert's place, the apartment is cosy and comfortable and it is right in the city centre.

This property was very central and it was great to be able to take our small dog. We arrived a bit early and this was not a problem. Overall I would recommend this property.

Great stay at Jesticos. Fantastic location, very clean and modern property. Hope to stay again in the future.

Absolutely as described, this is a cosy, modern 2 double bedroom accommodation right in the middle of Canterbury. Signature metal spiral staircase, really well done bathroom, the most amazing pillows on the beds, and everything we could want for a weekend away. Highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to access Canterbury. Parking close by (30 seconds away) so you can drive, unpack then explore on foot

Very nice apartment close to city center and communication including train to London.

We had a fantastic time in Canterbury which was made even more better by staying at Jesticos. The apartment was just what we required. it is a beautiful cosy and very clean accommodation. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to explore Canterbury as everything is within walking distances to the city.

Schönes und sauberes Apartment mit sehr bequemen Betten. Super gelegen, das Zentrum ist fussläufig erreichbar. Die Kommunikation mit Deborah und John war schnell und einfach.

Nice place and centrally located. Comfortable and well decorated. Had a few issues with items being advertised and not being available - with some resolved during the trip. Luckily we got the lack of a crib resolved after a few hours but made for a tough arrival with the baby after a long journey. We did make an assumption that bath soap and shampoo would be there based on other Airbnb experiences, but it was not part of this listing as a heads up for travelers to bring their own.

Jesticos lives up to expectations. It was clean, modern, central and comfortable. Thank you for such a lovely experience

A wonderful place to stay in Canterbury. So close to everything and the parking was great too.

Lovely stylish AirBnB in the heart of Canterbury - with high spec furnishings, electric blinds etc. Exactly as pictured. Felt very at home. We stayed from Thursday to Saturday and noise was a bit of an annoyance due to single glazing - although nothing the hosts could have done! Just drunken people from the nearby brewery having loud conversations at 2/3AM down the street both nights! I think that often comes from staying so close to the city centre though.

What an amazing appartment. Had everything you could want for a few days away. Great Sky TV with all the apps, electric blinds, amazing! And such a great location. In a quiet side street but only 10 mins walk to everything including fab pubs and amazing restaurants. Highly recommend this apartment! Thank You!

We enjoyed our stay great place an great city It was very handy for city centre having a car park was brilliant We travelled around Kent found it so easy to get back to the car park when we got back Recommend this to everyone Thanks

It’s in a great location - newly converted brewery with several units. Comms with the host were very good and quick. Great location for a city break but there are also some great places to visit within 40 minutes or so.

The flat is in a brilliant location, less than 10 minutes to the centre of Canterbury, on a quaint street. The flat is beautiful, with modern appliances and fittings. It feels like a luxury experience to stay here. Deborah was very responsive prior to check in, flexible and accommodating about altering the details of our stay, which we appreciated. During our stay, there was a problem with the plumbing which meant we did not have hot water throughout our time there. Deborah was quick to respond and come to check the situation when we alerted her of it. She arranged a plumber to come the next day. However, we were left to explain the issue to the plumber and changed our plans to stay at the flat for several hours while the plumber diagnosed the problem. I did expect the host to handle the plumber, and Deborah was less responsive to my messages updating her about the situation that day. The water issue was not fixed during our stay. This doesn't detract from the overall wonderful stay

We have just spent three nights at this wonderful boutique style property. All the fixtures and fittings and furniture/soft furnishings are of a high quality and it was a great place to stay for our cycling holiday along the coast. Parking is on site and bike storage is available. Great location for exploring Canterbury and walking to restaurants and bars. No hesitation in recommending this airbnb and would certainly love to return.

Thank Deborah Great stay in a lovely place. Thank you for having us. Great location for a trip away. Parking is easy but not free.

Fantastic home for visiting Canterbury. Furniture and bedding are very comfortable and the home and kitchen are well designed, stocked and supplied. Fast wifi. In a wonderful location for visiting area attractions. Also super quiet.

Our stay at Deborah’s was fabulous, the property was spotless, modern, and warm - lovely comfortable bed with a top sheet on the bed thank you!! - Everything you need for a perfect stay. We have loved staying here it’s been the best accommodation we have stayed at during our trip back to the UK. Thank you so much for accommodating us.

The clean, comfortable and stylish cottage is in the most perfect location. The little road it’s in is quiet but leads right into the city. I would love to stay there again and recommend it most highly.

Extremely clean and nice that looks exactly like the pictures. Location is very close to many shops, restaurants, and sites (only about a 5-15 minute walk from anything you would want to see). We only stayed for a short time, but it could easily be used for extended stays since it has such a nice bathroom and kitchen. Felt very safe in the home, and would love to stay there again! Deborah made many efforts to make us feel welcome!

This was one of the best Airbnbs I’ve ever rented. The space was pristine, beautifully decorated, walking distance to everything and Deborah went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. It’s a quick walk from the train station too! Definitely book this spot.

Clean and spacious, located in the heart of Canterbury, close to everything. Will come back next time!

Booked Deborah's place for a night so me and my sister's could have a get together in Canterbury. Communication was friendly and informative and everything was perfect from the start. The house was spotlessly clean, comfortable furnishings (lovely pillows!) nice powerful shower and a clever use of the space available..we loved it and wished we were staying longer. Location is central and extremely convenient for a night out in town. I would not hesitate to book again and can 100% recommend to anyone needing a little bolt hole in Canterbury.

Beautiful AirBnb. Just like in the photos. Spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. Great location - the city centre is literally around the corner, but the accommodation still felt very private. Great microbrewery and distillery a couple of doors away. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful home in a great location. Thoughtfully designed and had everything we could need. We would definitely consider rebooking or recommending to friends!

We had a very nice stay at this place. Helen was quick to respond to any queries and the whole check in process was smooth and easy. The location was great, easy to walk anywhere. The place itself was brand new, and you could tell. Nice mod cons, electric blinds and new amenities in the kitchen. So yes, would recommend!
