Inside Crippens

Lovely house in a great area of Canterbury. Close to absolutely everything you could want in a fantastic city. The house is very comfortable. We particularly liked the attractive design and layout, the comfortable furniture and beds and the very clear information and advice provided. Deborah and John were very helpful and kindly left some much appreciated provisions to welcome us to the house. We had a wonderful time, hope to visit again and highly recommend beautiful historic Crippens.

If you are visiting Canterbury, you must stay here. Deborah’s place is beautifully decorated and has a stocked kitchen ready for you to make a meal. Perfectly furnished rooms and such comfortable beds and real cotton bed linens. The big tub is divine. Stop looking for other places to stay in Canterbury and book this one! You won’t regret it. Yes you will have to duck a bit when walking around upstairs, but this adds to the charm. You are in a historic area and in beautifully restored historic building, so it only adds to the charm.

Had a wonderful few days in Canterbury staying at Crippens. Home is beautiful and comfortable, with quality luxury furniture, bedding and essential equipment throughout. Perfect location, couldn’t have hoped for better. Host John was very helpful responding quickly to any questions. What’s not to like. Thank you

A perfect stay! Can’t wait to return! The ceilings are indeed very low upstairs in the hallway and the door of one of the bedrooms, but it didn’t bother us; we just needed to pay a little bit more attention when walking.

Amazing home, we loved every minute of our stay there. The location was very convenient and everything was within walking distance. We will definitely be back!

This is a wonderful house in a wonderful spot. Everything is walkable, including the Cathedral and lots of enticing restaurants and shops. A local supermarket is a few seconds down the street. The host supplied some very welcome basics such as milk, butter, bread with tea and coffee, which was a lovely touch. The house was well-equipped, and the beds were extremely comfortable; there was even a Christmas tree, which was wonderful to have. All of the rooms were spotless. The host was friendly and had good and positive communication. We have family in the area, so we will not hesitate to book again in the future. We look forward to returning.

we loved the place and the location was perfect to see the ancient city of Canterbury. Everything was in easy walking distance. Deborah and John were very responsive for a late request for additional parking.

The house was beautiful and well presented. Useful information was provided throughout. Very central location - 5 minutes to restaurants and cathedral.

Great home with tons of charm and detail. Perfect location next to town. Would highly recommend.

The most amazing place in Canterbury! Staying at this Airbnb was an absolute dream! The location is ideal; right in the heart of Canterbury's city centre, yet tucked away just enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. The parking space is a big plus for this location. It's only a short walk from the high street, making it super accessible to all the shops, restaurants, and historic landmarks. Deborah and John provided excellent recommendations for things to do. From hidden gems for dining to must-see attractions, which felt like having an insider’s guide to Canterbury. The place itself is amazing. It’s luxurious, very well designed, and beautifully decorated with attention to every detail. From the stylish furnishings to the thoughtful touches throughout, it felt like staying in a boutique hotel. If you're looking for a blend of comfort, style, and prime location, this is a great place to stay! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this for anyone who wants a luxurious retreat.

Wonderful property, very specially decorated, with private car park for 1 car, right in the heart of Canterbury.

Fantastic time. Lovely location. Quiet. Beautifully rustic. Central and easy to get to. Great facilities! Would go again.

This is the best place for a big family to stay at. Very pretty house, good kitchen with everything that you might need for cooking and baking, clean bathrooms and showers. Couldn’t ask for more. Will come back!

Amazing location and fantastic home with lots of character and charm…. However that did come with some quirks - one of the larger rooms did have a bed which was positioned on a slopping part of the room making sleeping a bit awkward. Overall, fantastic property in a beautiful city. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay at Deborah's place. It is just a few hundred yards of the main street in Canterbury, but is quiet and feels away from the crowds. We were happy with everything, particularly the flexibility Deborah showed around our booking, which I am sure was annoying for her. We appreciated that. The place is spacious and nicely done out. It also has a piano that is in tune - what a treat.

We had a lovely stay. Excellent location and comfy beds. We would certainly book again. Thank you!

A perfect self contained house, fully equipped and very comfortable. Situated close to a beautiful river walk. Easy to walking distance to the whole of Canterbury. Recommended.

Deborah was a great host, accurate listing description, clean place, communicated great.

The perfect place to stay in Canterbury. Beautifully decorated house with plenty of space right by Canterbury’s high street and main attractions. The house is also a short drive to other Kent attractions such as Whitstable and Deel. Good size bedrooms and plenty of space for a family of 4 + 2 adult friends with a large kitchen and communal space. The house was spotless when we arrived with clear instructions for everything that we needed. Would highly recommend staying at Crippens and would gladly return should we ever return to the area.

Right in the heart of Canterbury with the buzz of the town. Beautiful place with a high specification

We were in Canterbury for one night with family, and we wanted somewhere to make the time special. Crippens fitted that exactly. The house is a massively skilful blend of old and new; it feels as if every part of the design and furniture has been carefully thought through. Everyone said how peaceful and relaxed they felt. The location was perfect. It is within a few minutes' walking distance of the cathedral and all the other central areas. The road is quiet with almost no traffic noise. There are plenty of places to eat (including breakfast) 2-3 minutes away. Parking on site was easy. We will be back next time we need a place in Canterbury. Thank you, Deborah!

We loved our stay in Canterbury and would highly recommend staying at Deborah’s place! It’s a great location - a short walk to Canterbury high street but on a quiet street The property is beautifully designed - it has old cottage charm but with a refurbished and modern feel. The beds were very comfortable. It has a great sized living space and kitchen is well equipped for cooking. We would stay here again!

This home is truly a gem. It’s so beautiful! The beds were very large and comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped with very nice appliances, the entire home is exquisitely decorated throughout. We could not be happier with this home! It’s close to many things to do in Canterbury. We took advantage of the numerous playgrounds and walks for our toddler, enjoyed punting up the river, and had lovely meals (notably enjoyed Cafe du Soleil and Cozy Corner). One thing to mention is that because of its convenient location, it did get a bit noisy from the street on the weekend nights. It was certainly not unbearable and our 18 month old was not disturbed sleeping against the street facing window, but if you are a sensitive sleeper you may benefit from earplugs or a sound machine for occasional street chatter and motorcycle/car noise. It did not bother us, but was noticed. Deborah was a lovely host and we had a fantastic visit to Crippens!!

This is a totally unique historic building, that has been renovated to the highest standard. Really one of a kind! Right in the centre so close to everything. Excellent communication from host Deborah.

This house. Is really spectacular. Every detail has been considered and love and attention poured into it. Beautiful, comfortable and great quality. The location is unbeatable, cannot recommend highly enough.

Very unique decoration and cleanliness house. Modern kitchen facilities (it will be more convenient if there is washing clothes for dishes and cooking oil). Very good location, walking distance to the town for shopping and sightseeing. We felt a bit cold in the room, it was helpful if the heating system can be set up in advance.

Deborah is always a kind and most helpful host. Her place is always so charming and as return guests we plan to stay over and over again.

Fantastic house and location. Couldn’t fault it. Loved all the interior touches. Just beautiful and so relaxing

Great stay - perfect location and very Christmassy! House was spotless and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Beds super comfy… overall super cozy!

Location was great, Deborah is very responsive. I feel like home when I stay here.

Deborah’s property is a home away from home. Unique and stylish. She was very flexible with us and we would love to return as much as possible. My kids loved it and that is always a bonus. A big thank you to Deborah a wonderful host.

Crippens was possibly best AirBnB I have stayed in. Beautiful and modern yet in medieval building right in the historic centre. Secure off road parking (a real bonus for this location). Fantastic kitchen, and living areas. Deborah left some sour dough, milk, coffee etc. to help us feel at home. Comfortable, spotlessly clean, with a very responsive and friendly host.

Beautiful place with a real homely feel. Beautifully designed with care and a sense of humour on occasion.

Deborah is an amazing host and went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. She had some delicious locally made treats for us on our arrival and she was a wealth of information about the best local restaurants and activities. She is certainly the friendliest and most helpful host that we have ever met through Airbnb. Her place is adorable and has the furnishings to match. Everything was comfortable and the house was spotless. The kitchen is well designed with all that we needed to make cooking a breeze. The location is just steps away from the any restaurants and shops in Canterbury, as well as several amazing walks and parks. A very fun and whimsical place to stay!
